It is a matter of honour & priviledge to be the principal of this esteemed institution that rests on the concept of providing professional training in order to optimize occupational performance of individuals, communities and population within the context of all relevant environments. Jaipur Occupational Therapy College, an institution of academic excellence, was established in 2004. It was the first college to provide degree in Bachelor of Occupational Therapy course in Rajasthan. Presently, the college has also started Master of Occupational Therapy and Ph.D. in Occupational Therapy. I joined this institution with this belief and to contribute in a manner that quality occupational therapists are passed on to the society who shall have sympathy for all and empathy for their patients and relatives. They should be able to advise on adaptations and technology in the workplace to help people return to work and in turn to regain independence following a disabling illness or accident. The curriculum includes appropriate clinical training, in addition to the theory classes, under the supervision of qualified faculties to enhance the students’ learning by integrating the basic medical sciences with clinical sciences in a given socioeconomic cultural setup. Both the teachers and students support and enjoy our approach. The collaboration with RCM, a recruiting agency from USA has helped us to attain a height in the placement of students in USA and also by providing centers to train them for various other competitive exams to get placed in various other countries. We are working towards making lives of people better. I believe that our graduates will substantiate the mission that enables people to regain their confidence and self-esteem. This demands their understanding of concepts of occupational therapy and hard work with dedication for their humanitarian mission. I feel proud to acknowledge the contribution of highly qualified, dynamic and multi-talented faculty, non-teaching staff and my students for this. I would like to assure that I will leave no stone unturned to take this institution to newer heights by enhancing academics that would help advance quality education.
